Four components – one program
- University Reform
Mission: the establishment of autonomous and accountable engineering educational institutions capable of producing highly demanded professionals - Reform of the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) system
Mission: The re-establishment of an efficient, competent and outcome-based TVET system capable of producing demand-oriented middle-level qualified professionals as well as a semi-skilled labour force - Quality Infrastructure
Mission: The development and enforcement of standards and quality management systems to enable the production and delivery of globally competitive goods and services - Private Sector Development
Mission: The creation of an enabling environment for the rapid and sustained expansion of a private sector capable of competing in a globalized economy
The four components include both the demand and supply side of an economy – forming a skilled work force and strengthening the sectors that needs and will employ it. Therefore, in spite of the four components being independent units, there is a strong interlinkage between them.
ecbp is not about isolated approaches but aims at tackling Ethiopia’s economic problems in all their complexity.
Advances in one field often depend on advances in other fields, and these interrelations need to be taken into consideration to guarantee the success of the program. It is the combination of the four components that makes ecbp work effectively, guaranteeing real advances in the country’s economic development.
