OLPC
The One Laptop per Child (OLPC) initiative is a revolutionary approach to education in developing countries. Providing children with the cheap and robust XO laptop means providing them with a unique opportunity to learn, discover, and express themselves.
This learning tool will change education around the world. Developed in the legendary Media Lab of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), OLPC is now being brought to Ethiopia through ecbp. See this documentary about the first steps of the program in Ethiopia and witness how a vision becomes reality.
"I commend the interest and participation of the Ethiopian community in North America in partnering with us to provide the olpc project for kids in Ethiopia. We are very much encouraged by this and look forward to an active partnership in this effort"

on.e has been working together with the Swiss company BlankPage (www.blankpage.ch), formerly known as Eduvision and represented locally by Apposit, on the One Laptop Per Child project in Ethiopia since 2007. As part of its commitment to this project, BlankPage is providing its innovative Akili Reader book viewer software which allows students and teachers to harness the true potential of this digital content. In addition, BlankPage has pre-installed its content management system which automatically updates the curricular content and software applications without requiring any input from the user.
