

On Tuesday April 10, 2007, at 5pm the Engineering Capacity Building Program (ecbp), in collaboration with Info Mind Solution (IMS), the first online recruitment firm in the country, will officially open the first Career Center at the Addis Ababa University Technology Faculty where young graduates will acquire a counselling service for internships, as well as preparing them for the first Career Expo in Ethiopia that will be held on June1-2, 2007.
To curb unemployment in Ethiopia the Career Expo will provide graduates of universities and collages with the opportunity of coming together with the industry and the public as well as to establish an internship system in Ethiopia. At the Expo young graduates will have a possibility to show employers who they are, what they do and make them visible.
Prof. Andreas Eshete, President of Addis Ababa University will open the Career Center and will make a welcome speech at the auditorium of the Faculty of Technology (FOT), followed by Dr. Bayou Chane Dean of FOT, Dr. Ing. Daniel Kitaw Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Studies, Mrs. Nele Wasmuth Senior Expert University-Industry Linkage at ecbp, and Yusuf Reja General Manager of IMS. Journalists attending the opening ceremony of the career center are kindly invited to a reception in the auditorium at 6 pm.
ecbp is undertaking the internship program in its university reform component, which is one of the four major program, that is, Technical and Vocational Education Training, Quality Infrastructure and Private Sector Development.
