Launching of Ethiopia’s First National Career Expo 2007

 

One of the biggest obstacles Ethiopia finds nowadays on her race towards progress is the low rate of employment affecting the country. Thousands of students graduate every year adding to the professionals seeking to develop their careers. At the same time, companies need qualified professionals to fill their vacancies and grow.

Students perceive a lack of opportunities while companies see difficulties in hiring skilled staff. But opportunities and skilled manpower are both out there, waiting to be discovered. What would happen if would be possible to bring job seekers and employers together?

The Engineering Capacity Building Program (ecbp), in cooperation with Info Mind Solutions (IMS), Ethiopia’s leading Human Resources consultancy and creator of the first online recruitment in the country (www.ethiojobs.com), is organizing Ethiopia’s first National Career Expo for students, graduates and enterprises on 1st and 2nd of June, 2007. There, skills and demands will come together in a unique event which will result in thousands jobs and numerous internships. Career Expo 2007 is exceptional because is not just a Job Fair, but also an Internship Fair, providing numerous internship places.

On April 4th, 2007, at 10.30-11.00 am a press conference will be held at the Sheraton Addis, Lalibela Ball Room to launch the First National Career Expo 2007 in Ethiopia. The press briefing will be addressed by Ato Yetbarek Alemu Amedae General Manager of YASCAI (Yetbarek Alemu Starch, Chemical and Adhesive Industry), W/O Ferhiwot Worku executive Vice-President corporate service at Ethiopian Airlines, Ato Yusuf Reja Director of Info Mind Solution (IMS) and Ms. Hilou Vogelmann expert career development internship in ecbp.

 

“Building Ethiopia” is the guiding motto of ecbp, an Ethiopian program, which is working nationwide to improve competitiveness and promote employment.
