Workshops for the Implementation of National Quality Infrastructure (NQI)

A series of workshops will be conducted throughout the country to review the Draft Strategy for the Implementation of Ethiopian National Quality Infrastructure.

The workshops will start on the 7^th of March, 2007, beginning at 8.30am at Summer Land Hotel, in Bahir Dar.

For Ethiopian products to be competitive in the international markets they must meet certain criteria. Through the Draft Strategy, the Engineering Capacity Building Program  (ecbp) intends to make “Made in Ethiopia” a mark for quality by raising Ethiopian products quality and standards. Quality Infrastructure (QI) will improve competitiveness and compliment the improved training given to the country’s workforce.

Workshop participants are drawn from major stakeholders of the quality infrastructure, mainly from government bodies, private sector, associations, universities and relevant personalities. 35 to 40 relevant people who can enrich the document are expected to attend each workshop. The workshops last one day and representatives of ecbp and Quality and Standard Authority of Ethiopia (QSAE) will attend.
